Domestic Liners

All our domestic liners are made from 0.500mm or 0.750mm thick material which is prefabricated to the profile of the swimming pool. However if you have a particular large/complex shaped pool then the liner can be constructed onsite using thicker 1.5mm material which offers greater durability.

The prefabricated pools have a life expectancy in the region of 10 years for the 0.500mm and upto 12 years for the 0.750mm. This life expectancy depends on how you care for your liner, see our liner care section for more details.

This pool was built in the mid 1980's and the pool walls had suffered horizontal and vertical cracking due to ground movement and sub standard construction. The only options available were to construct an entire new pool inside the new pool giving a reduction in size at a high cost. Using the alkor commercial lining system we were able to give this pool, a completely new life for the next 30 years or more. The advantages of alkor is that it is a flexible membrane and allows for small amounts of movement in the walls and floor and is perfect for this type of application. You can see how are also able to deal with more complex shapes.

The owners of this mosaic tiled pool had contacted us due to having to constantly filing the pool on close inspection by us it was found there was very small hair line cracks in the pool structure the options which were available were to construct a new pool inside the original pool shell at a cost of around £50,000 and giving a reduction in pool size or to covert the pool to accept a alkor commercial lining system. This whole project was completed within the client’s budget of £15,000. The life expectancy of this new lining system would again be in the region of 30 years.
